How To Make Edible Easter Bowls...Yum!

There is no better treat at Easter than chocolate, right?

How about chocolate served in a bowl made from even more chocolate? ...I can see I have grabbed your attention, so I will delay no longer!

You will need:

A bowl, some cling film, foil, scissors and your favourite chocolate. 100g of chocolate will cover a standard size cereal bowl with a thin layer. The cooling rack and newspaper make the process a little less messy!

Using the scissors, cut a sheet of foil big enough to wrap around your bowl, and then make several cuts so that the foil resembles a flower pattern (see photo). This makes the foil easier to wrap around the bowl.
Once your bowl is wrapped with foil, turn the bowl upside down and wrap with cling film - this makes the chocolate easier to peel off later.

Break your chosen chocolate into individual squares and melt in the microwave until smooth. Put the chocolate in the microwave for around 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time, to ensure the chocolate doesn't burn.

Pour the melted chocolate over the bowl, starting at the top.
Using the back of a teaspoon, spread the chocolate so that it covers the entire bowl. I like to leave it with some drips visible to get a more 'splash' look in the end result, but this is up to you.

Lick the spoon. This is a very important step, do not skip.

Leave the chocolate covered bowl in the fridge for an hour -at least- to allow it to set.

Once set, melt yet more chocolate to decorate your bowl with.
As a tip, I find white chocolate the easiest to work with as it goes so runny when melted.

Using a teaspoon, scoop out some of your melted chocolate and drizzle it over your bowl.
You can make any pattern you like such as dots or zig-zags, or you can pipe it to write someone's name and make it more personal.

Once the decoration has cooled inside the fridge, unpeel the foil from inside the bowl and remove the bowl from inside the chocolate casing. Carefully peel back the cling film from the chocolate.
Fill your bowl with chocolates, and enjoy!

More Easter treats on their way this Thursday, see you then!
